Welcome to Plait, the AI-powered nutrition and recovery companion for WHOOP, Garmin and Apple Watch (beta) data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use our service.
Information we collect
When you connect your WHOOP, Garmin or Apple Health account to Plait, we collect:
- Fitness data: recovery scores, sleep metrics, workout data and other information provided by the WHOOP or Garmin API, or sent from your iPhone for Apple Watch
- Profile information: name, email, height, weight and other profile details from your wearable account or that you enter
- Usage data: information about how you interact with our platform
How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Generate personalized meal plans based on your fitness metrics
- Provide AI-powered analysis of your recovery, sleep and workout patterns
- Create custom nutrition recommendations tailored to your fitness goals
- Improve our algorithms and the accuracy of our recommendations
- Troubleshoot technical issues and improve the user experience
- Communicate with you by email about your account and the service
Data security
Your fitness data security is our priority. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Secure OAuth authentication with WHOOP and Garmin
- Regular security audits and updates
- Limited data retention policies
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:
- Service providers who help us operate our platform
- Third-party APIs necessary for analysis (such as OpenAI for generating meal plans)
- Legal authorities when required by law
Advertising choices
If you allow advertising cookies, Meta and Google may use visits and non-sensitive conversion events to measure Plait campaigns and show relevant Plait ads. If you separately select email matching, we may also share a hashed version of your account email with Meta and Google for this purpose. Hashing is a matching technique, not anonymization.
Email matching is optional and is not required to use Plait. We do not include wearable readings, health metrics, meal contents or fitness goals in customer lists. Declining a choice does not affect your account or paid features. You can withdraw permission using the button below; we stop new exports and remove previously shared list entries through the relevant advertising service.
Email measurement
If you allow analytics, Plait can measure requests for links in its emails, visits after you sign in, and whether you load a meal plan. Optional HTML emails sent with analytics permission may also contain a small image that records an image request. Email apps can load images or check links automatically, so these signals do not prove that you read a message.
Essential account and payment emails do not include an open-tracking image. Choosing Essential only stops new email engagement recording for your account after your preference is saved. New emails require analytics permission when sent as well as when the image or link is requested. This measurement does not record your IP address, browser details or wearable readings, and message records expire after 90 days.

Depending on your location, you have rights regarding your personal data, including:
- Accessing your data

- Deleting your data
- Restricting or objecting to processing
- Data portability
Cookie policy
Plait uses cookies to enhance your experience and collect usage data. This includes:
- Session cookies for authentication
- Analytics cookies to improve our service
- Facebook tracking cookies for conversion tracking
You can choose "Essential only" in the cookie banner to opt out of analytics and advertising cookies.
